The Pueblo

San Pancho is a quaint beach town plentiful of fruit trees like almtamarindo, banana, orange, guayaba, grapefruit, mango, pineapple, lime and payapa.

The gardens of San Pancho homes are full of flowering plants rosas, gladiolas, chrysanthemum, hibiscus, and the always dramatic bougainvillea. Ask any “abuela” in San Pancho and she’ll tell you the local name of each plant and flower in her garden.

The surrounding jungle is home to iguanas, mongoose, armadillos, snakes and the jaguar. And much more, if you dare to venture deeper in the jungle. For bird lovers, early spring in San Pancho is when the serious ‘bird watchers’ arrive. And, inside the town, you can stroll the streets along with chickens, cows, horses and the famous “local dogs” of San Pancho.

In the sea, local fishermen bring in red snapper (huachinango), Mahi or Dorado, oysters, and lobsters daily. If you watch the sea long enough, you’ll surely see whales, dolphins and sometimes manta rays. .
