Surfing
San Pancho has a Great left break on a mixture of rock & sand. Can get hollow and fast when the sand forms over the rocks. Pick up swells from 3-15 feet.
Punta Mita is located on the outside of the Bahia de Banderas, facing the open sea. Swells from south to northwest. 3-15 feet. Offshore wind during the winter. Accessable only by boat.
El Faro is at the end of the north part of the bay. Excellent right wave. Gets north swells in winter, from Jan. to May. Coral and rock bottom for experienced surfers. Access by boat or a 25 min walk from Anclote.
Anclote is on the northern rim of the Bahia de Banderas. A beautiful beach with restaurants, hotels, and a fishing village. Right wave good for beginners and longboards. 1-8 feet. Good in the winter.
Burros 5 miles past La Cruz on the road to Punta de Mita. This breaks both to the right and left. Picks up swells from south to northwest. Burros is a sand and rock break. Usually 3-9 feet. Access to the beach by walking through the jungle, or 15 min along the beach. Good for beginners and longboards.
